Music Participation (20%)

  • Students’ performance in the music lessons
  • Participation in the internal or external music activities recognized by the school
  • Awards received in the competitions recognized by the school


Examination Policy

Singing Exam:

  • For the singing exam, students have to complete the singing exam in lessons.
  • Justified Absence for the singing exams – a medical certificate should be given to the music teacher on or before the date of exam.

Instrumental Exam: 

 

  • To foster the holistic development of our students, it is our policy that all F.1 students (starting from 2024-25) are required to learn to play at least one musical instrument (not including the piano).
  • For the music instrumental exam, students should play one Chinese or Western orchestral instrument, e.g. violin/ erhu/ harp etc. (not including e.g. recorder/ guitar etc.)
  • Students have to complete the instrumental exam in lessons.
  • Justified Absence for the instrumental exams – a medical certificate should be given to the music teacher on or before the date of exam.

Bonus Marks

  • Bonus marks will be given to those who are now learning more than one orchestral instrument (including piano).
