This 13-day tour took us from Hong Kong to Argentina, to the edge of the world, then back to Chile, San Diego and Paris, practically half a round across the earth, spending 4 days on sea to reach the icy continent. It is just as serene and untouched by humanity as one might imagine, even as you stand there it still feels so far away.

 

The lessons learnt however, are not new – to protect the environment, to widen your horizons, to respect different cultures, to be more aware of the beauty of your surroundings. What's new, however, is the heightened incentive to act upon them.

 

It is pure luck that we are able to have this experience, and I hope others will be inspired as well.

 

Organized by Hong Kong Tramways’ sister company, Tramplus, the “BuilDING Our Future” Grand Challenge was successfully held on 14th December, 2024. The competition encourages students to integrate innovative technologies into both tram and tourism development, in pursuit of reshaping the riding experience and promoting diverse tourism offerings.
 

The marvellous proposal of our student team, Kathy Cheng (3E) and Lynette Tang (3F), has led them to win the Championship of the English Division in this Grand Challenge. Their winning proposal – “Tram’endous Tramways” – transforms ordinary tram rides into a unique personified cultural experience. They were awarded a cash prize of $10,000 in total and a one-month tram body advertisement to further promote their remarkable achievement.
 

On 25^th November 2024, Carina Chiu (3E), Venus Ho (3E), Annette Wong (3E), Chloe Wong (3E), and Sophie Chan (3F) participated in the 2024 Middle School Ethics Olympiad, a competition in which students debate ethical issues, with 22 schools from Western Australian and Hong Kong.
 

The team was awarded the Silver Medal and has been invited to represent Hong Kong in the 2024 International Middle School Ethics Olympiad on 19^th February 2025.
 

Zaira Alamea (6B), Arwen San Juan (6D) and Sofia Cruz (6F) have participated in the City University of Hong Kong 30^th Anniversary Short Video Competition. The theme of the competition, "Bridges to Innovation and Stories of Connection", invites students to explore and express the many ways in which creativity and connectivity play a role in education and personal growth.
 

They are the First runner-up and have received a cash prize of HK$8,000.

Kanice Lee (5C) and 5D Lena Hung (5D) participated in the HKSME Innovation Award 2024 organized by The Hong Kong Greater China SME Alliance Association.  The Award aims to encourage and recognize more innovative enterprises and young people in Hong Kong.
 

Kanice and Lena won the Championship of the competition and the "My Favourite Innovation Award" by obtaining the most online public votes among 46 groups. They were awarded cash prizes totalling $5,000 and trophies.
 

This year, we are proud to announce that Phoebe Pun (F.4) was awarded the Outstanding Students’ Award (Junior Secondary Sector) while Cassidy Law (F.5) won the Distinguished Students’ Award (Senior Secondary Sector) in the 16^th Kowloon Region Outstanding Students Election organised by Kowloon Region School Heads Association.
 

On October 15th and 18th, 4A Bernice Tam and 2F Zoe Chan from our table tennis team were the 3rd runner-up in the Girls’ Doubles event in the All Hong Kong Schools Jing Ying Table Tennis Tournament 2024-2025 (全港學界精英乒乓球比賽)!
 

They showcased their skills, talent, and perseverance when competing against the top table tennis players in Hong Kong, and delivered an outstanding performance.

 

We are pleased to announce that Ice Chow (4F) was the Top Ten awardees in Young STEAM Talent Award 2024.
 

The Award, organized by the Centum Charitas Foundation, the Hong Kong Academy for Gifted Education and the Council of the Hong Kong Laureate Forum, is a dynamic platform that enables young individuals to unleash their imaginative ideas, cultivate critical thinking abilities, and make a constructive difference in their communities.
