We are proud to share our achievements in the Laurel School Award 2025–2026, one of the most prestigious honours in Hong Kong school sports. Organised by the Schools Sports Federation of Hong Kong, China (HKSSF), the Laurel School Award recognises schools that demonstrate outstanding all-round performance in inter-school sports competitions.
 

This year, we achieved Fourth Place in the Girls’ Schools Category of the Laurel Silver School Award, a testament to the dedication, teamwork, and perseverance of our student athletes and coaches.

We are also delighted to celebrate the achievements of three outstanding athletes:
 

• Leanne Tse (Swimming Team) – Laurel Rising Star Award (B Grade)
• Vivienne Lee (Fencing Team) – Laurel Outstanding Athlete Award
• Grace Keung (Volleyball Team) – Laurel Outstanding Athlete Award

These awards recognise the athletes’ exceptional performances, commitment, and sportsmanship in their respective sports.

Congratulations to Gailey Cheung of Form 4 on being selected as one of the “Sparkling Artists” in the Visual Arts Gifted Education Programme jointly organised by the Arts Education Section of the Curriculum Development Institute, Education Bureau (EDB), the Hong Kong Academy for Gifted Education, and the Hong Kong Arts Centre.
 

Throughout the six-month professional training programme, Gailey demonstrated exceptional artistic talent, creativity, and dedication, producing a series of high-quality artworks that reflect her growth and accomplishments. In recognition of her outstanding performance, her works have been selected for display at the Hong Kong Arts Centre.

Organised by Ocean Park Corporation, the Jockey Club Marine Plastic Challenge Education Programme – The 2nd Marine Plastic Innovation Challenge concluded with an Award Presentation Ceremony and Carnival held at HarbourChill, Wan Chai, on 11 July 2026.
 

The competition encourages students to apply their STEAM knowledge and skills to develop innovative, practical, and sustainable solutions to address the growing issue of marine plastic pollution.
 

A team from our school, comprising Angela Leung (2B) and Hayley Pang (2B), was selected as one of the top 5 finalists, earning high recognition in the competition. Their proposal, "真相偵查隊", highlighted the limitations of existing technologies in addressing marine plastic pollution. Recognising that technological solutions alone cannot fully resolve the issue, the team transformed their proposal into an educational learning package. This project aims to tackle marine pollution at its source by promoting greater environmental awareness and encouraging responsible daily actions.

The team also shared their learning journey and project outcomes during a whole school assembly.

　　「中國中學生作文大賽」是一項全國性、高規格的青少年文學盛事，旨在透過文字創作弘揚中華文化，提升中學生的文學素養、思想境界與表達能力。大賽每年吸引全國數百萬中學生踴躍參與，經過嚴謹的評審，最終選出各個獎項的得主。
 

　　本校中二丙班彭啟玲同學憑藉出色的文學造詣與深刻的生命感悟，在香港賽區九萬一千多名參賽者中脫穎而出，榮獲「中國中學生作文大賽（香港賽區）銀獎」以及「全國三等獎」，成績優異。
 

　　彭同學的得獎作品名為《生命的樂章》。文章別出心裁地以音樂樂章為結構，將個人的成長歷程巧妙地轉化為高低起伏的旋律。在「第一樂章：行板」中，她以細膩溫柔的筆觸描繪了外婆在灶火前忙碌的背影，鋪設出生命中溫暖平和的C大調底色；在「第二樂章：急板」中，她坦誠地面對青春期的焦慮與迷惘，展現了在不和諧的雜音中尋找內心真實聲音的過程；而在「第三樂章：如歌的慢板」中，她記錄了中二下學期數學競賽失利時，老師溫馨的關懷與點撥，讓她領悟到生命中的挫折與停留，不過是曲式中的「轉調」與「休止符」，同樣具有深遠的意義。文章結構嚴謹、用詞精緻、情感真摯且富有哲理，充分展現出她對成長的深刻思考與積極的生命韌性。
 

Our students achieved remarkable success at the "2025–2026 Hong Kong Commendation Scheme for Awardees of Extra-Curricular Activities" and the "1st Hong Kong Ten Outstanding Students in Extra-Curricular Activities" (Secondary School Category) prize presentation ceremony (organized by the Hong Kong Extra-Curricular Activities Masters’ Association). Their exceptional performances have brought great honor to our school!

 

• Valerie Chiu (F.4): We are immensely proud to announce that Valerie was invited to serve as a Guest of Honour at the Primary School Category ceremony. As the first-ever "Girl of the Year" named by TIME magazine, Valerie delivered a sincere and inspiring speech, sharing her journey to encourage the younger generation.

 

• Fay Mak (F.4): In a moment of immense pride for our school, Fay was one of the selected students among the "Ten Outstanding Students" to deliver a presentation during the ceremony. Her ability to articulate her experiences and vision on a public stage earned high praise from the audience and organizers alike.

• Fay Mak (F.4) – Recipient of the 1st Hong Kong Ten Outstanding Students in Extra-Curricular Activities

Beyond her technical mastery and perseverance in various ECA activities, Fay has taken the initiative to mentor her juniors and support her peers' growth. Her active participation in community performances and her standout presentation at the ceremony were the key factors that set her apart.

 

• Cady Koo (F.4) – Recipient of the 2025–2026 Hong Kong Commendation Scheme for Awardees of Extra-Curricular Activities

Our heartfelt congratulations to Cady Koo for her impressive results in the performing arts! Her commitment to creative excellence and her willingness to share her talents have significantly enriched our school’s cultural atmosphere and inspired her fellow students. 

在第11屆「卓越學生領袖選舉」中，從80間中學、近150名報名者中甄選出42名中學生領袖成為「卓越學員」，我校中四麥倬菲同學有幸獲得「卓越學員」稱號，並有機會參加了一系列領袖培訓及體驗式學習，包括：「香港管治現況分析與未來發展」專題研討會、「議題分析及思考框架」工作坊、「辯論技巧」工作坊、「模擬特首選舉論壇」、卓越學員成果分享會等，全面提升麥同學的多元能力及領袖素質。

 

Five of our students represented the school in the quarterfinals of the Territory-wide Inter-school National Security Knowledge Challenge. This competition strengthens students' understanding of national security laws, including the Constitution, the Basic Law, and the Safeguarding National Security Ordinance.
 

Six Form 5 students secured the First Runner-up position in the AMSAHK Research Competition 2025–26, an initiative supported by HKUMed and CUMedicine. Their project, "DIA-DEP", demonstrated exceptional effort through rigorous epidemiological research and the design of a sophisticated clinical protocol for integrated diabetic care. The team’s professional oral presentation and mastery of complex medical data deeply impressed the university adjudication panel. This remarkable success reflects their unwavering dedication to advancing public health and patient-oriented outcomes.
