Examination Policy

To foster the holistic development of our students, it is our policy that all students are required to learn to play at least one musical instrument.
 
  • For the music instrumental exam, students should play one Chinese or Western orchestral instrument, e.g. piano/violin/erhu/harp etc. (not including e.g. recorder/guitar etc.)
  • Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, students are not required to sing or play their own instruments face-to-face during the music lesson. Special arrangements will be held for the practical exam:

Students should upload their examination video recordings to the YouTube (unlisted link) and then upload the unlisted link to Google classroom with their music score (copy) for the practical exam. Failure to hand in the score – 5 marks will be deducted.
 
  • Students who fail to upload the link on the due date – 2 marks will be deducted (each day) for late submission. A medical certificate should be provided if the student is unable to take the exam before /on the due date.
  • Justified Absence for the singing and instrumental exams – A medical certificate should be given to the music teacher on or before the date of exam.

Bonus Marks
  • Bonus marks will be given to those who are now learning more than one orchestral instrument (including piano) in the 2nd term.
